| Professional DotNetNuke Module Programming introduces the reader to the best practices for DotNetNuke module development one step at a time working through the book. Each chapter focuses on one to two core APIs until the reader has been taught all parts of the API exposed to module developers. In contrast to the Wrox Professional DotNetNuke 4.0 book, this book's focus is integrating with the module using examples instead of explaining the reasoning behind the API, thus being a much more hands on approach.
To relate to readers we will start building a DotNetNuke Help Desk module. As the book progresses so will the capabilities of the module. As the module is being built it will also show the reader the practical applications of the exposed API’s. Towards the latter end of the book, the reader will be introduced to module add-ons, which are modules that work with other modules. One common theme throughout the book will not only be to show the reader how to communicate with the API, but why they should adhere to the API and take advantage of it. Unlike any other DotNetNuke book, this will also offer ways to automate parts of the development process using tools available to anyone who uses the internet, some free and others available for a fee.
This approach offers the reader real word examples of implementation along with a final product they can use as a module in DotNetNuke. This will also offer insight on ways to decrease development time using tools which allow the reader to automate parts of the process thus increasing efficiency.
